Head of Trade Planning, Europe

You will connect demand (Local Marketing) and Supply (Wine Directors) and work with them to reach GMV Goals. The Trade Planner ensures that the Local Marketing Calendars are fueled with the right products and follow the demand structure of the local markets (Categories, Price Points) so that you plan a product line-up that contributes to the budget goals (GMV and Profit)

Opportunity to build a trading plan across the European markets from scratch

Based in Copenhagen, or one of our European offices and reporting to the Director of Wine Buying, we're looking for someone who's experienced in trade planning, category management, operations, and logistics, with an understanding of e-commerce and you will have the opportunity to build the trade planning across European market from scratch working closely with Local Marketing Manager, Wine Directors, and Merchandising team.

You will own the critical path and sales Planning of core range wines across local markets, identifies parcel opportunities based on historical performance, and coordinates parcel opportunities from Local Marketing and Wine Directors and the other way around.

Other key responsibilities are also to:

  • Define a product structure for local trade plans and Pre-plan core range wines for the local market based on forecasts provided by merchandising, price points, demand structure, and historic bestsellers and monitor sales.
  • Coordinate parcel opportunities, including co-funded wine promotions from Wine Directors and parcel requests from local marketing to create a "sourcing list" and pre-plan sourced Wines in local calendars.
  • Identify reasons for soft performance and actively manage solutions to reach GMV / PPM budget.
  • Lead cross-functional task forces to manage progress and drive results.
  • Monitor & report on Country & Regional market performance.
  • Defines and owns the critical path process to ensure that marketing campaigns are planned ahead.
  • Build and maintain solid working relationships with the designated 3PL, suppliers, and with other EM markets for operations.
Strong understanding of trade planning and category management combined with a collaborative workstyle and strong analytical skills.

To succeed in this role, we imagine that you have a strong understanding of trade planning, category management, and e-commerce, are known to get things done, can evaluate problems and implement solutions, and are passionate about efficiency and driving success.
You are a strong and effective communicator who can challenge ideas, put your point forward, and articulate information with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to drive Profit.

Further, you will need to have the drive to work independently with a collaborative and communicative mindset. Your workstyle is proactive, and you are able to forecast logistical challenges and coordinate task forces to drive GMV.

Apart from your great personality, we are looking for someone with the below experience.
  • 3+ years experience in a similar role (Trade Planning, Merchandising, Category Management) in e-Commerce or FCMG, preferably
  • Advanced Excel skills are necessary.
  • Understanding of online retail/e-commerce, preferably FMCG / Wine
  • Wine knowledge is helpful but not a must.
