We are looking for an experienced R&D Software Engineer with a solid background in software development for PLC & HMI systems.
Your primary role be to support our new Automation & Product Digitalization team with all around software competencies including development operations (DevOps)
Danfoss Fire Safety A/S is part of the Danfoss Group and a global leader in the sale, development, production and service/commissioning of certified fixed firefighting systems under the brand name SEM-SAFE®.
Our firefighting systems are based on two key technologies: high-pressure water mist and low-pressure CO2. We are engineering a safer tomorrow for people and assets in buildings, industry and the marine sector.
Job Responsibilities
As Software Engineer, your key tasks will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Develop software solutions for PLC & HMI controllers using graphical and textual programing
- Take lead on strategic software initiatives including DevOps/software management
- Specification, implementation, and verification of SW-modules
- Cooperate with internal as well as external partners where needed- production, IT departments, consultants & suppliers
- Provide necessary maintenance and support for existing applications in cooperation with external partner
- Embedded firmware development

Background & Skills To be considered for this role, you should demonstrate: - Preferably 5+ years of experience with design of PLC based machines or similar
- Experience with IEC 61131-3 coding for PLC / HMI
- Experience with a broad variety of software languages, C/C++, Python, ladder etc.
- Experience in software testing methods (e.g., Hardware In Loop testing)
- Familiar with DevOps tools and processes, etc. Azure DevOps
- Being independent, proactive, and solution-oriented workstyle
- Being fluent in English - speaking and writing
Additionally, skills within the following would be beneficial:
- Experience with Schneider PLC & HMI solutions
- Experience within software requirements specification (SRS)
- Experience in firmware development for embedded systems
- Basic project coordinator experience connected with products and IoT solutions would be appreciated
