Therefore, we are extending our team with a position as Platform Engineer.
With direct reference to Head of Platform & Technology, you will join a handful of passionate colleagues, with the common denominator that we all have a background in software development. Together we are responsible for building a highway for a great development experience, CI/CD capabilities and experimenting with and adopting new technologies. Our team focusses on DevOps tasks, while treating the platform as a product for our developers. A job with focus on building a cloud platform based on DevOps principles
In the newly established position as Platform Engineer, you will be involved in the development and optimization of our GitLab SaaS platform as well as building the cloud infrastructure used widely by developers in Kamstrup. Your focus will be on the software concepts and cloud principles - scripting and architecture more than it will be aimed at classic software design principles. As part of the team, you are also expected to help explore and comprehend the ever-changing landscape of new technology.
More specifically your tasks will be to:
- Help create self-service developer portals for enabling dev teams
- Automation for data-driven CI/CD and release promotion
- Navigate and implement parts of the CNCF landscape
- Help educating and onboarding products and services to the platform
Personality matters
We are looking for someone highly interested in software development and who is keen on finding the right solutions. Therefore, we imagine that you have an educational background within Engineering, Computer Science or similar which has given you a deep technical understanding and coding experience.
Moreover, it will be considered an advantage if you are well-versed or have experience with some of the following:
- Administrating resources in Azure Cloud (or similar experience with GCP/AWS)
- Hybrid cloud architecture: networking, scalability and security across different environments (cloud native or hybrid setups)
- Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Ansible, ARM (Azure Resource Manager) Templates
- Programming: Python, Go
- CI/CD: Automate release and deployment flows and work in a data-driven approach to push internal evolution
- Scripting and CLI: Bash, PS, Azure CLI
- Containerization: Linux or Windows containers, containerd runtime, cri-o runtime
- Orchestration: Kubernetes
- Monitoring/Observability: Azure Monitor or Prometheus/Tempo/Loki/Grafana
- Security: Authentication, Authorization (users, service accounts, applications, platforms)
