Developer Role at SecondSale: Be Part of Fashion's Sustainable Revolution
We believe in a world where fashion's sustainability is backed by concrete data. Our SaaS bridges the gap between fashion brands and the second-hand market, providing crucial insights that redefine how brands think about sustainability.
Role Overview:
We are on the hunt for a dedicated developer who's ready to bring our vision to life. As our first hire, you'll be a crucial part of our story, with the potential to join as a co-founder or as a technical advisor as the startup grows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement our prototype or MVP from scratch: A web-based dashboard for fashion brands to understand how their clothing performs in the second-hand market in fashion resale platforms. The main development tasks are:
- Ingest: Understand API data structures and utilize endpoints to fetch data from partners, handle rate limits, and manage API keys or authentication tokens in the 5 to 7-figure API calls per day.
- Normalize, clean, and map: Ensure data from all sources follows a consistent format, handle missing values, outliers, or data; and map to a unified schema. This might involve creating a common key or identifier to join data.
- Storage: Manage an appropriate database and set up processes to regularly insert or update data to maintain integrity.
- Analytics: Run simple descriptive analytics on top of data for clients to access in a web interface; including using plots, charts, and heatmaps to visualize trends, distributions, and relationships.
- Collaborate closely with our founder, and talk to beta clients and partners to shape the direction of our product.
- There is an option for onboarding a consultant short-term if you do not have experience in all facets of the development.
Requirements:- Proficient in modern software languages such as the MEAN or MERN stack.
- Experience with both REST API and GraphQL.
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS and tools for setting up a dashboard (nice to have).
- Comfortable with building an MVP or prototype project from the ground up, and knowing its limitations.
About You:- You're driven by making the world a better place through digital innovation and data.
- You are curious about the potential of a data layer in an industry that is traditionally analog.
- You are perhaps a consultant, student, or have been in a full-time dev job for a handful of years where you can change your contract to work 1 or 2 days a week on a startup while keeping your job.
- Entrepreneurial spirit? Check. Risk-taker? Check. Thrive in the dynamic environment of an early-stage startup? Absolutely.
Compensation, Commitment & Practicalities:- Part-time role: 10-20 hours per week.
- Equity compensation is to be expected, details depending on candidate.
- Compensation: 150 DKK to 250 DKK per hour (negotiable).
- Immediate start date available.
- Open to work with a mix of remote and working together.
Work alongside a Founder with:- Strong business and sustainability acumen, some experience in fashion tech.
- Experience in product management.
- Design proficiency in Figma and Webflow.
- A clear vision backed by an understanding of software development and data.
